WHERE ARE YOU BASED?
Claudia is a New Zealand Makeup Artist based in Awanui - Far North. She travels back regularly to Ponsonby - Auckland every month for bookings. She has a studio in both Awanui and in Ponsonby, Auckland.

DO YOU TRAVEL TO LOCATION?
Yes, Claudia is a fully mobile Freelance Makeup Artist. Claudia can travel for certain bookings (Weddings, Shoot Sets, Commercial etc.) She covers all of New Zealand and International locations also. Claudia regularly books International Destination Weddings and offers affordable travel rates. Her most popular destinations include Rarotonga, Fiji and Samoa. WHAT DAYS DO YOU TAKE BOOKINGS?
Claudia is available for booking 7 days a week, all year round including all public holidays.
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING WITH YOU?
Through Claudia's website through her Makeup or Bridal pages. A booking fee is required to secure a booking.
HOW LONG DOES A MAKEUP SESSION TAKE?
This varies depending on the look you have in mind. Anywhere from 30 minutes to 85 minutes. On average a single makeup session takes 50 minutes.
DO I NEED TO PREP MY FACE BEFORE MY MAKEUP BOOKING?
Ensure you maintain a regular skin regime that includes daily cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising and drink lots of water leading up to your makeup booking. Please exfoliate the night before and moisturise. Please ensure you arrive with no makeup on. Please have a clean face with no oily or drying products applied, such as spot drying lotions. Ensure that your moisturiser has an SPF of no more than 15 as it can cause 'flashback' in photos and make you look very pale. Makeup always looks best with groomed eyebrows so you may wish to have them professionally groomed prior (Claudia can discuss this with you when booking).
DOES THE MAKEUP APPLIED LAST ALL DAY?
How you care for your skin will play the biggest factor in the longevity of your makeup. If the client has maintained a good skin care regime leading up to the booking, then they can be certain the makeup applied will last all day + night. Claudia prides herself on her professional skills. These paired with her use of premium, high end products, will ensure the makeup will last a minimum of 8 hours (if not well over 12 hours).Please see Claudia's testimonials here.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR MAKEUP and EXTENDED MAKEUP SESSIONS?
STANDARD MAKEUP runs for a maximum of 55 minutes and most looks can be completed within this time frame.
However, complex looks such as Glitter Cut Creases, Heavy Spotlights, Glitter Wings etc take up to 85 minutes and therefore fall under a EXTENDED MAKEUP. If you are unsure which service to book please enquire with Claudia here.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME TO MY MAKEUP BOOKING?
No, Claudia always provides everything needed for your makeup booking. You may wish to bring a photo of the style of makeup you want. If you do not wish to purchase a $5 lipstick touch up kit at your booking, then it is advised you bring a lipstick with you that you intend on using for touch ups.
I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN - CAN I BRING SOME OF MY OWN PRODUCTS THAT I KNOW WORK FOR ME?
Yes, absolutely. Claudia can nearly always use your own products if you wish (with some exceptions). Claudia wants you to be comfortable and if this means using your own makeup or skincare at any point, that is fine. Please note Claudia always provides everything needed, using your own products is optional at the clients discretion.
WILL I NEED TO TOUCH UP OR NEED MY OWN LIPSTICK OR POWDER?
Claudia will use waterproof/resistant makeup where possible and everything is professionally 'set' to last all day, and it will. Makeup does require touching up throughout the day or evening to maintain a perfectly fresh look, as we naturally bump and touch our face. Claudia supplies Lipstick Touch Ups - which cost $5.00. It might be nice to also carry a touch up powder, and/or a small bottle of MAC Fix + hydrating spray too. For weddings this is usually essential – Claudia can discuss this prior to your booking and suggest what is best suited to your skin type and tone.
DO YOU REQUIRE ANY MINIMUM SPEND?
MAKEUP: A minimum spend of $400 is required for any booking needing the Travel Service with the exception of some commercial and editorial bookings.
